Beep Test – Don’t Lunge, It Kills Your Turns

During the beep test, we’re either running or turning!

When it comes to turning, the wrong technique can drastically reduce your energy efficiency. One of our main objectives when performing the beep test is to do so as efficiently as possible.

When we turn at the end lines it’s important we get the hips side on to the end line. Keeping the hips front on will great a movement similar to a lunge. Lunging is very taxing on the body as it requires a lot of effort. The cumulative effect of lunging at every turn results in fatigue much earlier during the beep test than it needs to be.

Avoid lunging for the end line, get the hips side on and save yourself some energy which can be used in the later stages of the beep test to increase your score.
